The evolution of construction. From a dormant industry to the industry of the future.

Do you ever think just how efficient in the execution of your projects are you?

How much can you save by reducing waste? With each passing day, we hear the word efficiency over and over within the more develop industries. Only in recent years has the construction industry worked to put technology at its service, with the objective of taking down those limits that make the construction an un-responsible, inefficient and costly industry.

There are many tools from which to choose today, all aimed towards taking the construction sector to the next level. Just to name a few, we see the creation and management of projects with the BIM work methodology, 3D printing, the use of drones, the application of systems for environmental certification for buildings and especially industrialization.

But despite this, how can our industry achieve higher levels of efficiency? Which methods can we use? There is no lack of them, with industrialization being one of the best.

We understand industrialization as “an organization that applies the best methods and technologies to the integral process of demand, design, manufacture and construction".

According to a report published by Mordor Intelligence, titled United States Prefabricated Buildings Industry Study …. 2021 – 2026 states that:

“The Prefabricated Building Market in the USA is expected to grow at a CAGR of approximately 4% during the forecast period mainly driven by the growth in the construction sector. The prefabricated building industry had witnessed a steady growth during the review period and has generated a revenue of USD 39.6 billion in the year 2019, a 10% increase in the revenue generated from that of in the year 2016”.

Industrialization appears to be a safe path, since it has been the path chosen by so many other sectors, in response to the socioeconomic demands of its time.

Industrialized construction will lead to an exponential increase in quality and the optimization of execution times without any additional cost, simply by rationalizing the rhythm of production and mechanizing processes.

How can it be accepted that 15% of the materials arriving to the site will become waste? How is it possible that for 1 sqfbuilt we use 800% more labor than automotive companies use to build the same surface area of a car?

Industrialized construction is a safe, profitable and environmentally sustainable system. It does not depend on the weather and the occupational accidents rate is much lower. The design and production process are much more controlled and automated, allowing greater control of expense and time. The human error factor is reduced heavily, the precision is much higher and the processes get automated. Regarding the environmental impact, waste products are heavily reduced, less water is consumed and less energy as well.

“The value of the new residential construction that is put in place in the U.S is projected to be around USD 600 billion by the year 2025. “

Industrialized construction is undoubtedly revolutionizing the construction sector. Modernizing a generally conservative industry will be important in the near future to support customer demands and stay in business. We are able to use a production system that allows the construction of buildings which are highly efficient, affordable, safe, healthy and compatible with the care of the environment. Let's seize this opportunity.
